Global Governance Project

The Global Governance Project aims at producing a framework for best practice in governance of ICSOs to serve Board Members, Chairs and CEOs who would like to undertake future governance reforms more strategically and more effectively. The Concept of the Global Governance Project can be accessed here.

A Working Group developed four Standard Governance Models. The first drafts of these have been published on 23 May for inputs from an online Discussion Forum (see results below). The Discussion Forum has provided the Working Group with inputs and advice in order to develop the second drafts. These also served as the basis for the Global Governance Workshop held on 06 - 07 September 2012 in Berlin. The final framework text was presented at the Global Perspectives 2012 conference on 31 October – 02 November 2012.

The project’s final publication can be found here:
Taking a Strategic Approach to Governance Reform in International Civil Society Organisations (ICSOs) – A proposal for global Boards and CEOs how to conduct future governance reform in their organisations

The Berlin Civil Society Center invites governance experts and practitioners to join the discussion.
