Ownership and Governance

Ownership
Founded and originally owned by Peter Eigen and Burkhard Gnärig, the Center’s ownership is being transferred to some of the most eminent global CSOs. Presently the following organisations each hold a 10% share of the Center:

Amnesty Internationalowner since 2009

ChildFund Allianceowner since 2011
Oxfam Internationalowner since 2009
Plan Internationalowner since 2010
Transparency Internationalowner since 2009
World Vision Internationalowner since 2009

The remaining shares of the Center will also be transferred to global civil society organisations so that eventually, the Center will be fully owned by its primary users.

Governance
The Shareholders constitute the Center’s highest decision making body. They meet once a year in a Shareholders’ meeting. The next Shareholders’ meeting will take place in April 2012.

The role of the Center’s Board of Trustees is to monitor the management of the organisation. The CEOs of each of the Center’s owners and the two founding individuals have a seat on the Board of Trustees. The current Board members are the following:

Board meetings are held twice a year, with the next meeting taking place in April 2012.
