Accountability
The CSO Academy has hosted two workshops on the theme of Accountability. Representatives from leading global and national civil society organisations (CSOs) met with international experts from business, donors and think tanks to discuss accountability as well as strategies for addressing the challenges associated with this complex issue.
On 09 and 10 June 2011, Senior Managers from leading global CSOs worldwide and internationally renowned experts on measuring impact gathered at the Berlin Civil Society Center. Jointly they discussed how to improve impact measurement in complex, non-linear environments as well as the political and strategic implications of pushing for a joint CSO agenda on impact evaluation. Please view the Key Findings from this meeting.
Exploring Mutual Accountability
This workshop brought together accountability experts from 28 civil society organisations on 11 and 12 May 2009. The meeting aimed at supporting a process of re-defining accountability, based on mutual obligation and on identifying the most appropriate distribution of roles and responsibilities. The focus was put on strengthening the position of beneficiaries in accountability systems and processes to improve organisational quality and sustainability.
