CSO Academy

The CSO Academy offers workshops for Senior Managers on issues such as good governance, effective leadership, strategy development, transparency and accountability, human resources development, finance management and logistics.

The academy’s yearly event is the Senior Leaders Programme, providing leadership and management training to 25 CEOs, Deputy CEOs and global Heads of Division. Based on peer-to-peer learning and inputs from the world’s leading consultants, the training aims to provide a basis for self-reflection and personal development.

The Human Resources workshop brings together HR Directors of global and large national CSOs to develop concrete concepts which these organisations can – jointly and within their own organisations – implement to identify promising staff and to nurture and deploy them to their full potential.

The CSO Academy has hosted two workshops on the theme of Accountability. Representatives from leading global and national civil society organisations (CSOs) met with international experts from business, the donor community and think tanks to discuss accountability as well as strategies for addressing the challenges associated with this complex issue.

Technology and Communication – The Digital Futures of Civil Society (2008) offered 12 representatives from international CSOs and four corporate partners the opportunity to jointly explore different digital futures for global CSOs and identify how they can embrace internet technology to optimise their impact in supporting their beneficiaries.
