37 participants (41% of the total) returned their evaluation questionnaires to the Center. Key points of the participants’ assessment were:
• The preparation, structure, content and facilitation of the conference were rated “very good”. The main point of criticism concerning the structure was that there should be more time for break-out sessions and working groups and less time spent in the plenary.
• The logistics and the venue were rated “excellent”.
• The catering at the conference was “very good”/“excellent”. Some participants explicitly stated that they would prefer non-vegetarian food.
• Key benefits the conference brought for participants were (in order of participants’ ratings): “Identifying concrete challenges and opportunities of the global power shift” - “Establishing contact with other national and international CSOs leaders” – “Learning how CSOs can organise themselves more effectively at global level” and “Sharing best practice and learning from each other”.
• The majority of participants found the conference overall “very good” and most stated that Global Perspectives should take place every year.
Based on this outcome the Berlin Civil Society Center will organise another Global Perspectives conference in Berlin. The date for this conference will be 31 October - 2 November 2012.
