Global Peers

This is a new series of meetings organised by the Center since November 2011, aims at defining new and better coordinated ways for CSOs to commit and contribute to making the UN Millennium Development Goals a remarkable success by 2015 and beyond.

The Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda

The CEOs will meet on 10 April 2013 in New York. Building on the meetings in November 2011, April 2012 and October 2012, the current meeting aims to build the peer group of international CEOs and to strengthen their relationship with key stakeholders of our sector by bringing in leaders from the UN, the World Bank, key foundations etc.

Partnering Effectively for a Successful Post-2015 Agenda

This meeting took place in Berlin on 31 October 2012 prior to Global Perspectives 2012. It aimed at exploring the strategic positions of the UN and CSOs on the Post-2015 development agenda; synchronising both sides’ efforts towards the UN General Assembly in September 2013; and reviewing the concept of a UN Partnership Facility as a possible basis for fostering dialogue and partnership between key UN representatives and the CEOs of the world’s leading CSOs. Global Impact
Towards a more Strategic Cooperation between International Civil Society Organisations, the UN and Major Foundations

Building on Global Joint Action Towards 2015 and Beyond, the CEOs of the world’s leading International Civil Society Organisations (ICSOs) came together on 18 April 2012 in New York to discuss how they can strengthen their strategic alignment in order to increase their impact towards a fair and sustainable global development beyond 2015. Aiming at a more participatory and holistic approach, the ICSOs invited leaders of the UN and major foundations to join their deliberations. Please view the Outcome from this meeting.

Joint Action Towards 2015 and Beyond

The meeting took place in Berlin on 09 November 2011. High-level UN agency representatives and leaders of the most eminent International Civil Society Organisations (ICSOs) focused on how to jointly plan further coordinated and united action towards the Millennium Development Goals and develop a post-2015 framework.
